Prevent Panic Attacks At Your Wedding By Practicing With Your Makeup Artist

Imagine it is your wedding day. Your months of planning are all coming together smoothly. Your hair looks fantastic. Your wedding makeup artist adds the finishing touches and holds a mirror up for you to view yourself. Panic sets in as you cannot recognize the person in the mirror. Paralysis keeps you silent for just a moment and then you breakdown and start sobbing your heart out. What just happened? How could this unfortunate incident have been avoided?
Preparation has been a key element of many of our articles, and preparation would certainly have helped avoid this unfortunate situation. We have seen this happen more than once, and it certainly was the last thing the bride expected. And sadly, this will happen to many more unsuspecting brides. So, how do you prepare and prevent this from happening to you? Follow these steps:
1. Research your potential makeup artists. There are an enormous number of makeup artists out there, just like wedding photographers. Look for an experienced bridal makeup artist whose work you really like. But, don’t stop there!
2. Practice with this makeup artist. Get your makeup done and let the makeup artist know what you like or don’t like about it. Don’t be shy. Tell them. If the makeup artist isn’t interested in your input, find another one. The most important thing is for you to be happy with the makeup and your makeup artist should feel the same way.
3. Take a picture of yourself. Once you have the makeup just the way you like it, take a picture so that you and your makeup artist have something to reference on your wedding day.
If you follow the steps above, you will avoid a potential panic attack and be one step closer to fulfilling your dream of having a perfect wedding. Preparation, preparation, preparation! And, good luck!
