PART III: Your Quest For The Perfect Wedding Photographer Ends Here

Houston Wedding Photographers

We are closing in on the end of our journey. There are just a few more questions to cover for your potential photographers. After reading part 3, you will be armed and ready to find your perfect wedding photographer!

13. Can I view samples of entire weddings that you have photographed?
Ask your professional photographer to provide you with an example of an entire wedding. This will give you a very good idea how your wedding will look like. Getting a few good shots is easy, but producing consistent high quality results throughout your wedding will only be accomplished by a talented and experienced photographer.

14. How long will it take for you to deliver my images?
You want your images. Ask now so you aren’t unhappily surprised that it may take 5-6 weeks to get your images.

15. If I purchase a CD or DVD with all the high resolution images, how long will it take before I receive it?
Images may take over one month to deliver, however, some photographers will hold off on giving their clients the CD with all the high resolution images for up to a year! Wow! That is a long time!

16. Will you be color-correcting and retouching the images, if necessary? Is this included in the price or do you charge extra?
Would you like to have your photographs color-corrected? How about having oily skin or a blemish removed from your photograph? Your wedding photographer will need to have experience with photo editing software in order to do this and a lot of experience in order to make it look natural. This is a very time consuming process and most photographers charge extra for this service.

17. What measures or procedures would you take if an emergency arises and you are not able to attend our wedding?
No one wants to think about receiving a phone call the day of their wedding only to discover their photographer is deathly ill and won’t be able to make it to their wedding. Although this scenario is unlikely, find out if your photographer has a contingency plan in place just in case something like this should happen.

18. Will you be posting all the images on your website? For how long?
Many photographers have the ability to place all of your wedding images onto the web for you, your family and friends to view and purchase. Space on a web server can become costly, so photographers may need to remove your images after a few months.

I would like to stress that it is possible to find photographers who are up and coming, less expensive and would also fair well with the questions we have discussed. However, there will be a trade-off. They will be less experienced. Ask yourself, “Am I willing to trust this photographer on one of the most important days of my life?” On the flip side, hiring the most expensive photographer who meets all the criteria above will not guarantee the best outcome. A balance can be found and asking the questions outlined in this 3-part article will help you find it!
